Great book, great and easy read. Great format.
Kids love it! Adults groan. But it's clean fun, page after page. Corny? Yes. Very quick read, unless you're a kid wearing out the pages to entertain others. Highly recommended kid read.
I have a twelve year old grandson who hits me all the time with jokes, and now I have 250 jokes to keep his devious little mind busy guessing what I am going to hit him with. This was a fun book, I even recognize some of the jokes from my youth.
I enjoyed what little of it I read. I had my step-granddaughter in mind when I ordered it, thinking we'd read while waiting for supper Christmas eve. She wasn't there, so I just read a few for my quck-thinking daughter, who figured out answers before I could read them. Kinda spoiled the fun!
My children love joke books! I have found that if you have a child who is an early reader or sometimes a reluctant reader, he or she may be daunted by the task of reading a chapter book. Books like 250 Laugh-Out-Loud Clean Jokes for Kids are a perfect introduction to reading for these types of readers. This would be a great addition to a summer reading program where kids are looking for variety and fun!
While visiting my eleven year old grandson, I loaded this story up on the and challenged him with a few of the joke/riddles. He absolutely loved them. His parents and grandma groaned and moaned -- at first. Then they joined in trying to guess the answers, sometimes nailing the joke. Sometimes the misses were funnier than the right answer. I had to stop after about 20 jokes - too much mind sugar at once is not good.
If you've been around a few years, many of these will be familiar, but there are enough surprises to make them fun for adults as long as there is at least one kid present to be the primary audience.
